Overview
Cydexa is an oral probiotic dietary supplement developed by Zocular (marketed under the Cybiotica brand) for the management of dry eye disease and related conditions such as blepharitis. Formulated by ophthalmologist Dr. Peter Pham, the supplement targets the gut-eye axis to modulate the gut microbiome, which is believed to reduce systemic inflammation and enhance tear film stability. Cydexa utilizes a proprietary Entrocoat™ (Cyclodextrin Autoencapsulation) technology designed to protect the probiotic strains from gastric acid during digestion, ensuring their survival and delivery to the intestines. The formulation contains purified probiotic strains, including *Lactobacillus reuteri*, and is intended for once-daily oral administration. Users typically report symptomatic improvement within 4 to 6 weeks of consistent use.
