Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Cymerus MSCs are a proprietary line of mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) derived from induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) using a scalable manufacturing process. Developed by Cynata Therapeutics, these cells are designed to overcome the limitations of traditional bone marrow-derived MSCs, such as donor variability and limited expansion potential. The Cymerus platform utilizes a single iPSC bank to produce a consistent and virtually limitless supply of MSCs. The lead product candidate, CYP-001, is being investigated for the treatment of graft-versus-host disease (GvHD), while other formulations like CYP-006TK (combined with a polymer-coated wound dressing) are targeting diabetic foot ulcers. The cells function by modulating the immune system and promoting tissue repair through the secretion of bioactive molecules.
