Overview

Cyn-1324 is a novel small molecule immunomodulator that targets the CD28 co-stimulatory molecule. It binds with high affinity to CD28, effectively disrupting the interaction between CD28 and its ligand CD80. By blocking this signaling pathway, Cyn-1324 interferes with CD4+ T-cell activation and induces T-cell anergy rather than regulatory T-cell (Treg) induction. In preclinical models of house dust mite-induced asthma, intranasal administration of Cyn-1324 significantly reduced airway resistance, lung eosinophilia, and the production of Th2-associated cytokines. It has also demonstrated the ability to decrease both murine and human T-cell proliferation and IL-2 secretion in vitro, suggesting potential therapeutic applications in allergic and autoimmune diseases.
