CYP4F2 siRNA is a small interfering RNA (siRNA) designed to silence the expression of the cytochrome P450 4F2 (CYP4F2) enzyme. CYP4F2 is a primary ω-hydroxylase responsible for the synthesis of 20-hydroxyeicosatetraenoic acid (20-HETE) from arachidonic acid. In the context of pancreatic cancer, CYP4F2 is overexpressed and its product, 20-HETE, promotes tumor growth, metastasis, and inflammation by activating Ras and attracting human macrophages. By targeting CYP4F2 mRNA for degradation, this siRNA reduces 20-HETE levels, thereby suppressing primary pancreatic tumor growth and inhibiting the inflammatory stromal compartment. Research indicates that targeting this pathway may offer a novel approach to treating pancreatic cancer by regulating the tumor microenvironment.
