Overview

CypH-11 is a topical, near-infrared pH-responsive fluorogenic dye developed as a sprayable probe for real-time fluorescence-guided surgery. It exhibits minimal fluorescence at neutral pH but fluoresces brightly in acidic environments, which are characteristic of cancer cell proliferation. This property enables surgeons to visualize and highlight cancerous tissues during operations, particularly in the abdominal cavity, facilitating more complete tumor resection while sparing normal tissue. The dye acts rapidly after topical application—fluorescence develops within a minute—enabling the "spray-and-see" approach for identifying small or residual tumors in real time without systemic toxicity. CypH-11 is being developed primarily for use in colorectal, ovarian (including high-grade serous ovarian cancer), and brain cancers.
