Cystinol N

Cystinol N is an herbal medicinal product developed by Schaper & Bruemmer for the treatment of inflammatory diseases of the urinary tract, such as cystitis and irritable bladder. It is a combination therapy consisting of bearberry leaf extract (*Arctostaphylos uva-ursi*) and goldenrod herb extract (*Solidago virgaurea*). The bearberry component contains the glycoside arbutin, which is converted into hydroquinone in the urinary tract, providing direct antibacterial activity against common pathogens like *E. coli*. The goldenrod component acts as a diuretic, anti-inflammatory, and antispasmodic agent, primarily by inhibiting the synthesis of inflammatory mediators such as prostaglandins and leukotrienes. This dual action helps to eliminate bacteria while flushing the urinary tract and reducing pain and irritation.
