**CYT-500** is an investigational prostate-specific membrane antigen-targeted radioimmunoconjugate developed by Cytogen for metastatic androgen-independent prostate cancer, now generally termed metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer. It comprises the anti-PSMA monoclonal antibody 7E11-C5.3 conjugated through a methoxy-DOTA chelator and radiolabeled with lutetium-177. Following antibody localization to PSMA-expressing prostate-cancer tissue, lutetium-177 delivers beta-particle radiation, with accompanying gamma emissions useful for biodistribution assessment, to produce localized radiation-induced tumor-cell damage. CYT-500 entered a Phase 1 dose-escalation study evaluating safety, tolerability, biodistribution, pharmacokinetics, antibody mass, and lutetium-177 dose.
