Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Cytal Burn Matrix is a sterile, porcine-derived, naturally-occurring lyophilized extracellular matrix (ECM) in sheet form, developed using ACell's proprietary MatriStem UBM (Urinary Bladder Matrix) technology. As an acellular matrix scaffold, it maintains an intact epithelial basement membrane and is intended for the management of various wound types, including second-degree burns, partial and full-thickness wounds, pressure ulcers, venous ulcers, and diabetic ulcers. The device works by supporting a healing environment through constructive remodeling, which facilitates the body's ability to replace damaged tissue with site-appropriate, functional host tissue rather than forming significant scar tissue. It is currently marketed by Integra LifeSciences following their acquisition of ACell.
