Overview

ARM B refers to a specific consolidation chemotherapy regimen evaluated in the GATLA 8-LMA-P'07 (also known as GATLA 8-AML'07) phase III clinical trial for pediatric patients with acute myeloid leukemia (AML). Developed by the Grupo Argentino de Tratamiento de la Leucemia Aguda (GATLA), this "block therapy" approach was designed to replace conventional 6-drug consolidation. The regimen consists of two sequential blocks: Block AI (intermediate-dose cytarabine and idarubicin) and Block haM (high-dose cytarabine and mitoxantrone). Both blocks include intrathecal cytarabine for central nervous system prophylaxis. The regimen aims to optimize dose intensity and reduce residual disease while managing toxicity in children and adolescents with AML.
