Overview

**Cyto-111** is a novel antibody fusion protein developed as a post-symptomatic antidote for botulism. It consists of a single domain antibody targeting the intra-neuronal botulinum neurotoxin (BoNT) protease fused to a proprietary recombinant molecular vehicle derived from botulinum neurotoxin technology. This "Trojan horse" mechanism enables specific delivery of the therapeutic antibody to the presynaptic compartment of neurons, where the toxic BoNT protease resides, neutralizing it after intoxication has occurred. Unlike existing botulism treatments, Cyto-111 reverses respiratory symptoms and improves survival in preclinical models across mice, rats, guinea pigs, and is currently undergoing testing in non-human primates. Developed by CytoDel, it shows efficacy both therapeutically post-exposure and prophylactically, with potential biodefense applications for military personnel.[1][3][5]
