Overview

**Cytomegalovirus pp65-lysosome-associated membrane glycoprotein ribonucleic acid-pulsed dendritic cell vaccine** is an autologous dendritic cell-based therapeutic cancer vaccine developed primarily at Duke University for glioblastoma and studied in both adult and pediatric malignant brain tumors. The product is generated from patient-derived mature dendritic cells electroporated or pulsed with messenger RNA encoding a fusion of the human cytomegalovirus phosphoprotein 65 antigen and lysosome-associated membrane glycoprotein 1, a design intended to enhance antigen processing and presentation through major histocompatibility complex pathways. After intradermal administration, often with granulocyte-macrophage colony-stimulating factor as an admixed adjuvant, the vaccine is intended to prime and expand CMV pp65-specific antitumor T-cell responses against CMV pp65-expressing glioma cells. It is a personalized biologic cell therapy and therapeutic vaccine rather than a prophylactic antiviral vaccine.
