Drug intelligence / Profile preview
CytoNext is a biological therapeutic developed by Cytonex, consisting of stem cell conditioned media (SCCM) derived from mesenchymal stem cells. Administered via an inhaler, it is designed to treat respiratory conditions including chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), lung fibrosis, asthma, and COVID-19, including post-recovery. The product's mechanism of action centers on its secretome, which includes the antiviral effector protein IFITM3 (Interferon-induced transmembrane protein 3). IFITM3 works by inhibiting the fusion of viral and host cell membranes, thereby preventing viral entry into host cells. Additionally, the conditioned media contains a variety of growth factors and anti-inflammatory cytokines that facilitate tissue repair and modulate the immune response in the pulmonary environment.
