Drug intelligence / Profile preview
CyTonin (also known as Pure CyTonin) is a patented, purified cytoplasmic Swedish pollen extract developed by Sérélys Pharma (acquired by UPSA). It is produced using a unique technology that removes the rigid, allergenic, and gastro-resistant outer shell of pollen grains, leaving only the nutrient-rich cytoplasm. CyTonin is used as a non-hormonal, non-phytoestrogenic dietary supplement to alleviate menopausal and perimenopausal symptoms (such as hot flashes, night sweats, sleep disturbances, and fatigue) and to support urinary health. Unlike phytoestrogens, CyTonin does not bind to or activate estrogen receptors; instead, it is thought to act as a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI)-like agent, helping to maintain serotonin availability in hypothalamic neurons involved in thermoregulation, sleep, and mood.
