Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Cytori Cell Therapy is an autologous adipose-derived regenerative cell (ADRC) therapy developed by Cytori Therapeutics. The treatment utilizes the proprietary Celution System to isolate a concentrated population of stem, progenitor, and regenerative cells from a patient's own adipose tissue at the point-of-care. These cells are then re-administered to the patient to facilitate healing through multiple mechanisms, including the promotion of angiogenesis, modulation of the inflammatory and immune responses, and enhancement of tissue repair. The therapy has been evaluated in late-stage clinical trials for hand dysfunction associated with scleroderma (under the brand name Habeo) and urinary incontinence, and is also being developed as a medical countermeasure for thermal burns and radiation injury in collaboration with BARDA.
