Overview

Cytostatin (CTS) is a novel small molecule isolated from a microbial cultured broth that functions as a selective inhibitor of protein phosphatase 2A (PP2A). It has demonstrated anti-metastatic activity, particularly against B16 melanoma pulmonary metastasis, by augmenting natural killer (NK) cells and increasing mRNA expression of Flt-3 ligand in bone marrow cells. Additionally, cytostatin inhibits cell adhesion to the extracellular matrix and can induce apoptosis.
