Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Cytovir ADV is an investigational cell therapy designed for the treatment of adenovirus infections in patients following allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell (bone marrow) transplantation. The therapy consists of naturally occurring T lymphocyte cells (T cells) derived from the bone marrow donor, which are specific for adenovirus antigens. These T cells are intended to transfer adenovirus immunity from the donor to immunocompromised transplant recipients, who are at high risk for life-threatening adenoviral infections due to prolonged immune suppression post-transplant. Cytovir ADV is being evaluated in clinical trials, such as the ASPIRE Phase I/II trial at Great Ormond Street Hospital in London, to assess its safety and efficacy in reconstituting immediate and long-lasting immunity against adenovirus[2][4]. The product meets criteria as an advanced therapy medicinal product (ATMP), specifically as an advanced therapy investigational medicinal product.
