CZ006

CZ006 is an injectable formulation of etoricoxib, a selective cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) inhibitor, being developed by Zhejiang Cuize Pharmaceutical Technology for the management of postoperative pain. Etoricoxib is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that provides analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects by inhibiting the synthesis of prostaglandins, specifically targeting the COX-2 isoform to minimize gastrointestinal and platelet-related side effects associated with non-selective NSAIDs. While etoricoxib is traditionally administered orally, CZ006 is designed as an injection to provide rapid pain relief in the acute postoperative setting where oral administration may not be feasible. The drug is currently in Phase 1 clinical trials (SAD/MAD) in healthy volunteers to evaluate its safety, tolerability, and pharmacokinetics, with oral etoricoxib serving as an active comparator.
