Drug intelligence / Profile preview
CZ012 is a sustained-release intranasal gel formulation of the corticosteroid mometasone furoate, developed by Zhejiang Cuize Biopharmaceutical. It is designed for administration following functional endoscopic sinus surgery (FESS) in patients with chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (CRSwNP) to improve postoperative wound healing and prevent recurrence. The product utilizes a proprietary temperature-sensitive hydrogel technology that allows the formulation to be applied as a liquid and subsequently transition into a gel state upon contact with the nasal mucosa. This in-situ gelling provides a localized reservoir for the continuous release of mometasone furoate, ensuring prolonged anti-inflammatory action and reducing the need for frequent dosing compared to conventional nasal sprays.
