Overview

D-AIP is an 8-amino acid D-enantiomeric peptide engineered to interact specifically with amyloid-β1–42 (Aβ42) oligomers, acting as a novel anti-amyloid strategy for the treatment of Alzheimer’s disease. D-AIP is designed for increased stability, penetration of the blood–brain barrier, and resistance to enzymatic degradation. Pharmacokinetic studies in mice demonstrate its ability to reach the brain following oral administration and show favorable metabolic profiles, indicating potential as a disease-modifying agent for Alzheimer’s disease.
