Overview

d-alpha-Tocopherol is the naturally occurring, most bioactive form of vitamin E. It is a fat-soluble antioxidant that protects cell membranes from oxidative damage by neutralizing free radicals. The RRR stereoisomer (also called d- or D-) is the natural form and has greater bioavailability than synthetic forms (dl- or DL-). Vitamin E supports immune function, vision, skin health, and blood clotting. It may be used to treat or prevent vitamin E deficiency and as an ingredient in dietary supplements and fortified foods. Its antioxidant properties are also being explored for potential benefits in cardiovascular disease prevention, some cancers, neurological diseases like Alzheimer's disease, certain eye disorders such as cataracts, diabetes management, premenstrual syndrome relief, and skin protection from UV radiation[1][2][3][4].
