Drug intelligence / Profile preview
D-Cys-Cu Nanoparticles are chiral nanoparticles formed through the self-assembly of D-cysteine and Cu2+ ions. These nanoparticles have demonstrated the ability to inhibit the aggregation of amyloid β (Aβ) peptides, specifically Aβ42, and can also disaggregate pre-formed Aβ42 fibrils. This mechanism of action suggests their potential as a therapeutic strategy for Alzheimer's disease.
