D-PLEX1000 is an investigational antibiotic-eluting bone graft product developed by PolyPid for the prevention and treatment of bone infections, particularly in the context of severe open long bone fractures (Gustilo type I-IIIB). The product utilizes PolyPid's proprietary PLEX (Polymer-Lipid Encapsulation matriX) technology to provide a controlled, extended release of the antibiotic doxycycline hyclate directly at the surgical site over several weeks. The antibiotic is paired with beta-tricalcium phosphate (beta-TCP) granules, which serve as an osteoconductive scaffold to support bone healing and regeneration.
