Overview
D1000078 is an experimental eroding gel matrix placebo tablet developed by AstraZeneca for use in clinical research. It was specifically designed to evaluate gastrointestinal transit and erosion rates using Magnetic Marker Monitoring (MMM) technology. In Phase 1 clinical studies, D1000078 was one of several formulations (alongside D1000082, D1000083, and D1000085) used to characterize how different matrix erosion properties affect movement through the digestive tract under both fasting and fed conditions. As a placebo, it does not contain an active pharmaceutical ingredient and is used primarily for pharmaceutical technology characterization and drug delivery system development.
