DA-1726 is a novel oxyntomodulin (OXM) analogue developed for the treatment of obesity and Metabolic Dysfunction-Associated Steatohepatitis (MASH). It functions as a dual agonist of the glucagon-like peptide 1 receptor (GLP1R) and the glucagon receptor (GCGR), leading to weight loss through reduced appetite and increased energy expenditure. Preclinical studies have shown that DA-1726 results in superior weight loss, retention of lean body mass, and lipid-lowering effects compared to other drugs in its class, such as semaglutide, cotadutide, tirzepatide, and survodutide. The drug is administered once weekly via subcutaneous injection. It is currently being evaluated in Phase 1 clinical trials for obesity[1][2][4][5][7].
