DA-4511 is a preclinical small molecule inhibitor targeting Src homology 2 domain-containing protein tyrosine phosphatase 1 (SHP1), developed by Dong-A ST for the treatment of various cancers. SHP1, encoded by the PTPN6 gene, is a protein tyrosine phosphatase that primarily acts as a negative regulator in immune cell signaling pathways, including T-cell and natural killer (NK) cell activation. By inhibiting SHP1, DA-4511 aims to remove these inhibitory signals, thereby enhancing the anti-tumor immune response. This mechanism positions DA-4511 as a potential immunotherapeutic agent that could be used to turn "cold" tumors "hot" or to potentiate the effects of other checkpoint inhibitors. The compound is currently in the preclinical stage of development.
