**DA-5222** is an oral fixed-dose triple combination being developed by Dong-A ST for **type 2 diabetes mellitus**. It combines **evogliptin**, a selective dipeptidyl peptidase 4 inhibitor that prolongs endogenous incretin activity; **empagliflozin**, a sodium/glucose cotransporter 2 inhibitor that increases urinary glucose excretion; and **metformin**, a biguanide that lowers hepatic glucose production and improves insulin sensitivity. The candidate has been studied in Phase 1 pharmacokinetic, food-effect, and safety studies in healthy adults, including comparisons of the fixed-dose tablet with coadministration of its three individual reference components.
