Drug intelligence / Profile preview
DA-5515 (Circulan) is a multi-component botanical pharmaceutical product developed by Dong-A Pharmaceutical, primarily marketed in South Korea. It is a combination of four active ingredients: Crataegus (Hawthorn) extract, Ginkgo biloba extract, Garlic oil, and Melissa officinalis (Lemon balm) extract. The formulation is designed to improve peripheral and central blood circulation. Hawthorn extract is traditionally used for its cardiotonic properties and ability to improve coronary blood flow. Ginkgo biloba extract acts as a vasodilator and inhibits platelet aggregation via antagonism of the platelet-activating factor (PAF) receptor. Garlic oil contributes to cardiovascular health by modulating lipid metabolism and providing antioxidant effects, while Lemon balm extract offers mild sedative and circulatory support. DA-5515 has been investigated in Phase 4 clinical trials for the treatment of chronic fatigue symptoms associated with impaired blood circulation.
