Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Da Shanzha Wan is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) formula produced by Liaoning Jindan Pharmaceutical, primarily used as a digestive aid. It is composed of three main herbal ingredients: Hawthorn (*Crataegus pinnatifida* fruit), Medicated Leaven (*Massa Medicata Fermentata*), and Malt (*Hordeum vulgare* malt). The formula is traditionally used to treat food stagnation, manifesting as indigestion, abdominal fullness, and loss of appetite, particularly after consuming heavy or greasy meals. Pharmacologically, it is thought to stimulate the secretion of gastric acid and pepsin, thereby facilitating the breakdown of proteins and fats and improving gastrointestinal motility.
