Overview
Dabuyin Pill (Dabuyin Wan) is a classic traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) formula traditionally used to treat conditions characterized by "yin deficiency and flourishing fire." In modern clinical practice, particularly in China, it is utilized as a therapeutic intervention for children with central precocious puberty (CPP) who exhibit a specific TCM pattern of yin deficiency. The formula typically consists of four primary ingredients: *Rehmannia glutinosa* (Shu Di Huang), *Chinemys reevesii* shell (Gui Ban), *Anemarrhena asphodeloides* (Zhi Mu), and *Phellodendron amurense* (Huang Bai). It is hypothesized to work by modulating the hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal (HPG) axis, potentially suppressing the premature activation of gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) neurons and reducing the secretion of luteinizing hormone (LH) and follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH). The Children's Hospital of Fudan University has conducted real-world observational studies to evaluate its effectiveness and safety in pediatric patients.
