Overview

DAC HIV is a long-lasting drug conjugate developed by ConjuChem LLC for the treatment of HIV infections. It targets the gp41 protein, which is crucial for the HIV virus's membrane fusion and infection process. The drug utilizes a C34 peptide, known to block virus-mediated cell-to-cell fusion and de novo HIV-1 infection of T-cells. ConjuChem's proprietary DAC™ technology is applied to this C34 peptide to increase its plasma residence time, thereby sustaining its antiviral activity and potentially preventing the development of viral resistance. The drug is currently in the preclinical phase of development.
