Overview

DAC002 is an antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) developed by Hangzhou DAC Biotech that targets the trophoblast cell-surface antigen 2 (Trop-2). Trop-2 is a cell-surface glycoprotein that is highly expressed in a variety of epithelial carcinomas, including triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) and small cell lung cancer (SCLC), while showing limited expression in normal tissues. The ADC is designed to bind specifically to Trop-2, leading to internalization of the complex and subsequent intracellular release of a cytotoxic payload to induce cell death. DAC002 received clinical trial approval from the China National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) in July 2020 for the treatment of solid malignant tumors and is currently undergoing Phase 1 clinical evaluation.
