Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Dachaihu Granule is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) product manufactured by Nantong Jidesheng Pharmaceutical. It is a modern granule formulation of the classic "Da Chai Hu Tang" (Major Bupleurum Decoction), a formula originally documented in the *Shanghan Lun* (Treatise on Febrile Diseases). The preparation typically consists of eight herbal ingredients: Bupleurum (Chai Hu), Scutellaria (Huang Qin), Rhubarb (Da Huang), Peony (Shao Yao), Pinellia (Ban Xia), Ginger (Sheng Jiang), Jujube (Da Zao), and Immature Bitter Orange (Zhi Shi). It is clinically indicated for the treatment of "Shaoyang and Yangming concurrent syndrome," characterized by symptoms such as alternating chills and fever, fullness in the chest and hypochondrium, nausea, and constipation. It is commonly used in China for the management of acute and chronic cholecystitis, cholelithiasis (gallstones), acute pancreatitis, and various gastrointestinal disorders.
