Overview

This is a four-drug combination regimen consisting of three direct acting antivirals—daclatasvir, asunaprevir, and BMS‑791325—plus the antiviral ribavirin. Daclatasvir is an NS5A replication complex inhibitor; asunaprevir is an NS3 protease inhibitor; and BMS‑791325 is a non-nucleoside NS5B polymerase inhibitor. Ribavirin is a nucleoside analog with broad-spectrum antiviral activity. The combination was developed for the treatment of chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection, particularly genotype 1. Clinical studies have shown that regimens containing these agents can achieve high rates of sustained virologic response in both treatment-naive and previously treated patients, including those with reduced interferon responsiveness[1][2][4][5][6]. Bristol Myers Squibb led development of this investigational regimen.
