A combination therapy consisting of **daclatasvir**, **asunaprevir**, and **ribavirin** is used for the treatment of chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection, particularly genotype 1. Daclatasvir is an NS5A inhibitor, asunaprevir is an NS3 protease inhibitor, and ribavirin is a nucleoside analogue with a broad-spectrum antiviral effect. This combination may be used in certain clinical situations, including for patients with previous treatment failure or with compensated cirrhosis, but it is less common than ribavirin-free combinations due to the improved tolerability and efficacy of newer direct-acting antiviral (DAA) regimens. The main mechanism for the combination is inhibition of multiple essential viral proteins for HCV replication, enhancing antiviral efficacy. Primary indication is chronic HCV genotype 1 infection in adults.
