Drug intelligence / Profile preview
A combination therapy composed of **daclatasvir**, an HCV NS5A inhibitor; **peginterferon alfa-2b**, a pegylated form of interferon alfa that stimulates immune responses; and **ribavirin**, a nucleoside analog antiviral. This regimen has been investigated for the treatment of **chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection**, particularly in treatment-naive patients with HCV genotype 1. Daclatasvir inhibits viral replication and assembly by targeting the NS5A protein, peginterferon alfa-2b induces antiviral immune responses, and ribavirin enhances antiviral effects through multiple mechanisms. Clinical trials show this combination provides substantial rates of sustained virologic response (SVR24), with a safety profile similar to peginterferon alfa-2b and ribavirin alone[3][4].
