Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Dactinomycin + etoposide is a chemotherapy combination used primarily in the treatment of gestational trophoblastic neoplasia (GTN) and testicular cancer. This combination is often part of multi-agent regimens such as EMA/CO (etoposide, methotrexate, dactinomycin, cyclophosphamide, vincristine) or APE (actinomycin D, cisplatin, and etoposide). Dactinomycin works by binding to DNA and inhibiting RNA synthesis, while etoposide is believed to produce cytotoxic effects through DNA binding and inhibition of topoisomerase II.
