Dactylis glomerata pollen depigmented polymerized extract is a subcutaneous allergen immunotherapy (SCIT) product developed by LETI Pharma. [15] It consists of an allergen extract from Dactylis glomerata (orchard grass) pollen that has been chemically modified through depigmentation and polymerization with glutaraldehyde. [18, 19, 20] This modification process creates larger molecules called allergoids, which have reduced allergenicity (lower capacity to bind IgE) while retaining their immunogenicity (ability to activate T-cells). [14, 16, 17] The goal is to improve the safety and tolerability of the immunotherapy. [21] Administered via subcutaneous injection, it works by gradually inducing immune tolerance to grass pollen allergens, thereby reducing the symptoms of allergic rhinoconjunctivitis and asthma. [19, 27] The extract is typically formulated as a suspension adsorbed onto aluminum hydroxide, which creates a depot effect for slow release of the allergen. [14, 20]
