The formulation is primarily composed of *Rheum palmatum* (Dahuang), *Scutellaria baicalensis* (Huangqin), and *Artemisia capillaris* (Yinchen), which are traditionally used to clear damp-heat, resolve jaundice, and promote bile flow. In clinical research, it is being evaluated for its efficacy in treating nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), where it is thought to modulate lipid metabolism and exert anti-inflammatory effects.
