Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Dahuang Zhechong Wan is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) formula developed and manufactured by Beijing ASIA-EAST Biopharmaceutical (also known as Beijing Yadong Biopharmaceutical). It is a classic TCM prescription originally recorded in the 'Synopsis of Prescriptions of the Golden Chamber' (Jin Gui Yao Lue). The formula is primarily utilized in gynecology to treat conditions characterized by blood stasis, such as uterine fibroids, endometriosis, and amenorrhea. It consists of a complex mixture of botanical and animal-derived ingredients, including *Rheum palmatum* (Rhubarb), *Eupolyphaga sinensis* (Ground Beetle), and *Hirudo nipponica* (Leech). Pharmacologically, the drug is recognized for its ability to improve microcirculation, inhibit platelet aggregation, and exert anti-inflammatory and anti-fibrotic effects. It is approved in China as a proprietary TCM product for various indications involving chronic blood stasis.
