Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Dailyiron is an oral combination supplement developed and marketed by Systopic Laboratories, primarily indicated for the treatment and prevention of iron deficiency anemia, particularly during pregnancy and lactation. The standard formulation of Dailyiron contains ferrous ascorbate (a highly bioavailable synthetic chelate of iron and ascorbic acid) and folic acid (vitamin B9). The sustained-release variant, Dailyiron SR, contains ferrous ascorbate combined with L-methylfolate (calcium L-5-methyltetrahydrofolate), the biologically active form of folate. Together, these components synergistically support red blood cell production, hemoglobin synthesis, and oxygen transport, while preventing neural tube defects and other nutritional deficiencies in pregnant women.
