Dajisu

Dajisu (dyclonine hydrochloride mucilage) is a topical anesthetic gel developed and manufactured by Yangzijiang Pharmaceutical Group. Its active ingredient, dyclonine hydrochloride, is a ketone-based small molecule local anesthetic that works by blocking voltage-gated sodium channels on neuronal membranes, thereby inhibiting the initiation and conduction of nerve impulses. Dajisu is specifically indicated for providing local anesthesia and lubrication of the throat and upper gastrointestinal tract during endoscopy procedures. Additionally, the formulation possesses mucolytic properties that help remove foam from the gastric cavity, enhancing visualization for the clinician. It was approved by the NMPA in China in 2004 and has been commercially available since 2005.
