Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**Dakson** is an oral fixed-dose antimicrobial product marketed by Emcee Pharmaceuticals. Each tablet contains **norfloxacin 400 mg** and **tinidazole 600 mg**. Norfloxacin is a fluoroquinolone antibacterial that inhibits bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, while tinidazole is a nitroimidazole active against susceptible anaerobic bacteria and protozoa through reductive activation and DNA damage. The product is used for infectious diarrhea and dysentery caused by susceptible bacterial or protozoal organisms. Dakson is distinct from Emcee's separately named Dakson-OZ and Dakson-ORL products, which have different compositions. ([1mg.com](https://www.1mg.com/drugs/dakson-400-mg-600-mg-tablet-234228))
