Overview

DaKTP-Hib-HepB-Pneu vaccine refers to the co-administration of a hexavalent combination vaccine (protecting against diphtheria, acellular pertussis, tetanus, poliomyelitis, Haemophilus influenzae type b, and hepatitis B) and a pneumococcal conjugate vaccine (protecting against Streptococcus pneumoniae). This immunization regimen is routinely administered to infants at 2 months of age under the Dutch National Immunisation Programme. A clinical study conducted by the Medisch Centrum Alkmaar evaluated the safety of this first routine immunization in clinically stable preterm infants born before 33 weeks of gestation after hospital discharge, demonstrating that home immunization without hospital cardiorespiratory monitoring is safe for this population.
