Overview

A combination therapy consisting of danazol (a synthetic steroid derived from ethisterone with androgenic, antigonadotropic, and anti-estrogenic properties) and glucocorticoids. This combination has been studied for treating refractory autoimmune thrombocytopenia associated with systemic lupus erythematosus, where danazol is used as an adjunctive treatment in patients who failed to respond to high-dose glucocorticoids alone.
