Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Danbai is a name that appears in several contexts, primarily associated with traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) products and cosmetic formulations. In TCM, "Danbai" or related names such as "Dan Bai Xiao Formula" and "Danbai Granules" refer to herbal mixtures used for various indications, including chronic pelvic inflammatory disease and as adjunct therapy in lupus nephritis. These products are typically multi-ingredient herbal formulas aimed at clearing heat, removing blood stasis, expelling dampness, relieving pain, and supporting immune modulation. There is also a cosmetic product called "Collagen Facial Mask - danbai mianmo," which contains hydrolyzed collagen among other ingredients[1][2][6]. Additionally, some unregulated or adulterated products labeled with similar names have been found to contain undeclared pharmaceutical ingredients such as dexamethasone and diclofenac[4][8]. The mechanism of action for the TCM formulations is not well defined by Western pharmacology but generally involves anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory effects attributed to their herbal components.
