Dance 601 is an investigational inhaled glucagon-like peptide 1 (GLP‑1) receptor agonist being developed by Aerami Therapeutics (formerly Dance Biopharm) for the treatment of type 2 diabetes. It is described as a GLP‑1 analog formulated for delivery via a soft-mist inhalation device, leveraging the company’s needle-free inhaled biologics platform that was originally advanced with its inhaled insulin candidate Dance 501.[1][2][5][9] By activating GLP‑1 receptors, Dance 601 is intended to enhance glucose-dependent insulin secretion and improve glycemic control; however, the program has been discontinued before late-stage clinical development.[2]
