DANCR siRNA is an experimental, preclinical research compound that utilizes small interfering RNA (siRNA) to silence the long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) known as Differentiation Antagonizing Non-Protein Coding RNA (DANCR). DANCR acts as an oncogene in multiple cancer types, including acute myeloid leukemia (AML), triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC), and non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), by promoting stemness, epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT), and cell proliferation. The siRNA works through the RNA interference (RNAi) pathway to degrade DANCR transcripts. In preclinical studies, it is often delivered via specialized nanoparticle systems, such as transferrin-conjugated or RGD-PEG-ECO nanoparticles, to enhance stability and tumor-specific uptake. While it has shown efficacy in reducing tumor growth and cancer stem cell populations in vivo, it is currently not associated with a specific commercial drug program or clinical trial.
