Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Danggui Chengqi mixture (当归承气合剂) is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) hospital preparation developed by the Shanghai Mental Health Center (affiliated with Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine). Formulated based on the classic 'Danggui Chengqi Decoction' from the ancient text *Neijing Yifang Lunjian* (内经拾遗方论), the mixture primarily consists of *Angelica sinensis* (Danggui), *Rheum officinale* (Dahuang), *Natrii Sulfas* (Mangxiao), *Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium* (Chenpi), and *Trichosanthis Pericarpium* (Gualoupi). It is clinically used in combination with atypical antipsychotics (such as olanzapine) or mood stabilizers (such as lithium carbonate) to treat schizophrenia, manic episodes, and associated cognitive impairment or metabolic syndrome.
