Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Danggui Tongjing Granules is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formulation developed by Beijing Kawin Technology (also known as Beijing Kaijin Technology) for the treatment of primary dysmenorrhea. The product is specifically indicated for patients presenting with the cold-dampness stagnation syndrome, a common TCM diagnosis for painful menstruation. The formulation is primarily composed of extracts from *Angelica sinensis* (Danggui), along with other herbs such as *Corydalis yanhusuo* and *Ligusticum chuanxiong*. These components work synergistically to promote blood circulation, resolve blood stasis, and provide analgesic effects. Pharmacological studies indicate that the granules inhibit the production of prostaglandins (via COX-2 inhibition) and relax uterine smooth muscle by modulating calcium channels. The drug has completed Phase III clinical trials in China, demonstrating a significant reduction in menstrual pain intensity and duration compared to placebo.
