Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Danhuang Longxin (also known as Danhuang Longbi) is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) capsule developed and manufactured by Guizhou Baixiang Pharmaceutical. It is specifically indicated for the treatment of chronic prostatitis and benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). The formulation is composed of several herbal ingredients, including *Salvia miltiorrhiza*, *Phellodendron amurense*, and *Vaccaria segetalis*, which work synergistically to clear heat, remove dampness, and promote blood circulation. Mechanistically, the drug is thought to reduce the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines such as tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-alpha) and interleukin-6 (IL-6), and inhibit cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) activity, thereby alleviating pelvic pain, urinary frequency, and urgency. It is widely used in China as a standard treatment for chronic pelvic pain syndrome (CPPS) related to prostate inflammation.
